Overview
It’s been a few months since Honda launched the Hybrid version of the City in Thailand. And since its India launch is very near, it is expected that it will follow almost the same powertrain options as that of its Thailand model. The expected highlights are mentioned under.
On the Point
On its powertrain option the new Honda City Hybrid is expected to be powered by a 1.5L petrol engine option which will be capable of producing 98PS of power and when combined with its electric hybrid motor the City Hybrid is expected to counter a power output of 109PS.
On to its transmission option, it could only be available in the CVT transmission option. The hybrid package is also expected to increase the weight of the vehicle by 100kgs. But may return the mileage around 30kmpl for the vehicle.
Moreover, in Thailand, the City Hybrid is available in 2 trims the first one is known by the name of ‘sensing’ which basically features ADAS features and includes Driver-assist features. The second trim is known as the CIty RS and is the e: HEV trim but that won’t be available in India as the sources say.
Conclusion
City Hybrid can be the most demandable offering in India, especially with its increased efficiency, it may become the most loved sedan but due to its pricing which is 2.5 lakhs more than the current top variant of 5th gen Honda City may change the mind for its customers.
