Recently, Nio which is a Chinese car manufacturer launched their ET5 from the ET series lineup, the car packs amazing features including its charging range and its premium appeal.
On the Point, the car is available only in the Chinese market to date and is offered in three different build options in which the main variation is the battery pack in each of them, the first one comes with a standard battery which is 75kWh in capacity and is able to make the vehicle achieve a range of 550 Km (Claimed), the second options include an Ultra Battery pack which is 100kWh in capacity and provides a range of 700km (Expected) to the vehicle. The third and the last one is the Ultralong battery range pack in which the battery integrated is of the capacity 150kWh, providing a range of 1000km.
Along with this huge battery range on offer the new ET5 also combines the features of autonomous driving known NAD (NIO Autonomous Driving) providing the toughest competition to Tesla. This Autonomous Driving capability integrates 33 high-performance cameras, high-resolution LiDAR sensors, etc to make the car just travel on its own.
Talking about its feature highlights the new ET5 packs 10.25 inches of HDR display which supports PanoCinema that brings both AR and VR Tech inside of the vehicle. However, the user also has to buy the ET5 glasses to use this feature. Along with this, the new Nio ET5 features 8 different driving modes which are terrain and weather-specific making the vehicle compatible with almost all terrains. Other highlights includes are that the doors on this vehicle will feature Flush door handles along with frameless windows. Moreover, the company offers it in 9 different color options.
Some safety highlights include that the car is built from the Ultra-high-steel-aluminium hybrid body which is said to score expected 5 stars ratings in the C-NCAP and Euro NCAP ratings.
Well, the manufacturer NIO is actually coming from a Chinese origin with headquarters in China and also the sales are limited to China, Germany, the UK, and Norway. So there are no chances of this vehicle coming up in India. But if any Indian automotive manufacturer gets inspired by this product, then of course this would be the greatest thing as in this starting era of EVs in the Indian market we will be able to see EVs with a range of more than 1000km in a single go!
Talking about the pricing the NIO ET5 costs around 39lakhs in Indian currency, which is literally such a low price compared to the features it is offering. The vehicle will be made available to the Chinese dealerships by September 2022. And after this, the vehicle will probably make its sale in the European market.
