Recently, Skoda has launched its full-sized sedan i.e. Skoda Slavia which is a smaller version of its all-time favorite sedan Skoda Octavia. After the launch of Slavia, there were expectations from Volkswagen to launch its sedan as well which was further cleared from the spy shots taken of the new Virtus which is Vento’s replacement.
On the point things which we expect from the new Volkswagen Virtus are followed below:
- Engine and powertrain options
Guessing the Skoda Slavia VW Virtus can be based on the 1.0L TSI or 1.5L TSI engine options. The power outputs from the 1.0L are expected to be 113HP with a torque output of 178Nm. While the 1.5L engine is expected to deliver a power of 148HP with 250Nm of torque.
The transmission options can be varied according to the engines but for now, the expectations are that the 1.0L TSI unit should be integrated with the 6-speed manual and automatic options while the 1.5L unit can be mated with the 6-speed manual and with 7-speed DSG automatic.
On the exteriors it is expected that the new VW Virtus will feature LED headlamps followed by LED DRLs, the same thing should be seen on its rear profile i.e. the LED tail lamps. Moreover, the platform of the vehicle will be the same as seen on Taigun, Kushaq, and Slavia i.e. MQB A0 IN which is exclusively tuned for Indian standards.
On the interiors, basic things will be included i.e. a 10inch infotainment system supporting Apple Car Play and Android Auto. the instrument can all feature an all-digital graphics integrated display.
The front seats can also feature a ventilation system. Also, the car can also be equipped with a panoramic sunroof.
The expected launch date of the new Volkswagen Virtus is April 2022. This new vehicle is basically a replacement for the Polo’s extended version i.e. the Vento.
