Skoda Rapid Interiors

Launched in 2011, when Skoda entered the Indian car market with its premium built Skoda Rapid. The vehicle was initially available with petrol and diesel engine options but later on it was only offered in petrol variant. Moreover, out of all the vehicles from Skoda in India Rapid have literally made its mark in the Indian Automotive market.

Technology and interiors

Starting off with the dashboard, it’s literally plain and completely simple with no cuts and creases. The Monte Carlo trim also gets red all over in the cabin such as on the seats, steering wheels etc. The dashboard holds an infotainment system which is an 8 inch touchscreen unit to which Skoda calls ‘Android Radio’ which doesn’t get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Driver’s side is kinda good with adjustable seats (includes height adjustment as well) and steering wheel. The instrument cluster is all analog with the tachometer and speedometer and a small display showing you the basic information about the vehicle. Apart from this, the steering wheel gets red stitching in the Monte Carlo finish along with Cruise controls. Moreover, the driver also gets a removable dustbin which is there along with the door pockets.

The central console is also decent with the 12V charging socket right below the AC controls. Moreover, the USB socket along with the 3.5mm headphone jack has been placed in the Glove box which also gets a cooling function as well. Well, there is a lot of space in the central console as well which includes twin cup holders, space under the armrest etc.

The rear seats are nice in terms of look and Skoda offers red stitching on them in the Monte Carlo variant. The headroom is decent along with the kneeroom but the underthigh support is just poor. The rear seats also feature an AC vent, a 12V charging socket, two adjustable headrests, sun visors etc.

The boot is of decent size with the capacity of 460L and the spare is not an alloy with the smaller tyre on offer as well.

Conclusion

Well on to the point, the car is discontinued but still if you want power and punch in a budget sedan and also if you like factory fitted black interiors (Monte Carlo Trim) then absolutely you can go with the Skoda Rapid. Moreover, it is also available in matte edition which is known as the Skoda Rapid Matte Edition. Also, as the car is discontinued there are many offers which will reduce its price.
