Well, after launching the Skoda Rapid’s Matte edition, which is limited up to 400units, Skoda decided to launch its Rapid’s replacement which is the Skoda Slavia. The car has been spotted many times testing in India and there are many things which we know about till now.
The new Skoda Slavia will be longer, wider than the Skoda Rapid. Moreover, with the longer wheelbase it will also feature more legroom and comfort on offer. In terms of styling the Skoda Slavia like any other German engineered car will feature LED DRL’s with the bold Skoda grille at the front. Moreover, from the spy shots it seems like Slavia from rear will look much alike the Honda Civic.
In terms of technology Skoda Slavia will feature the all-time Skoda’s infotainment display, leather upholstery, premium finished interiors and all other features that the current generation Rapid features. However, there are assumptions that Slavia can be launched without the Panoramic sunroof like its ancestor Skoda Octavia which can be disappointment.
Well, after the Skoda Octavia, there are assumptions that Skoda will work on its engine options and can provide two engine options in Slavia. The first one will be the lower one i.e., 1.0L TSI unit producing a maximum power of 115bhp. This engine option can be available in 6 speeds automatic and manual transmissions. The second one which is a bigger petrol unit will be 1.5L TSI motor producing a maximum power of 150HP and 250Nm of torque. And there are assumptions that this engine option will feature only 6 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Well, these engine options will kinda remind you of the new Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
Launch and Pricing
The Skoda Slavia’s launch is expected in the early or the quarter 1 of 2022 followed by the launch of Skoda Rapid. The expected price is around 11-15 lakhs.
