Yaris which is the third sedan from Toyota after Camry and Corolla Altis in India was launched in 2018.
Well, the car was launched with tremendous hype about its first in segment roof mounted illumination and vent system. Moreover, its main highlight at that time was its TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system), Auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, Infotainment system with apple car play and android connectivities.
However, with all this it didn’t came up with anything. It was failed to make its mark in the market like the other Toyota vehicles. And finally today on 27th of September, 2021 Yaris has been discontinued. This was reflected by the company’s official statement as ‘this move is a part of Toyota’s product strategy to continue to cater to the ever evolving needs of the customer through enhanced technologies and product offerings. Moreover, Toyota also ensured the part availability for the Toyota Yaris till 10 years.
Toyota Yaris was powered by a BS VI 4 cylinder unit having a displacement of about 1496cc producing a maximum power of about 79kW (107PS)@6000rpm with a torque of 140Nm@400rpm. It was available in Manual as well as Automatic (CVT-i).
