Ford Motors to stop manufacturing their vehicles in India; Loses $2 billion

Today (9th September, 2021), Ford motors declared that they will stop their production at Sanand plant by the 4th quarter of 2021 and the Chennai vehicle assembly plant by the end of 2022. Also, once the deliveries of the existing stock of the vehicles (Figo, Aspire, Ecosport and Endeavour) get finished, sales for these vehicles will be stopped immediately.

However, Ford will continue its service for its unique and popular model i.e. Mustang in India. Moreover, the models that will sell now will get full assistance on service, warranty, aftersales service etc. -: Ford motors officials said.

Well, after GM motors Ford is the second one which closed its sales in India due to financial losses. Ford motors lost 2 Billion dollars in past 10 years. Moreover, no hike in the demands of their vehicles was seen and not even it was upto their forecast.

Jim Farley CEO of Ford Motors and President of Ford Motors said that they are taking difficult but necessary actions to ensure longer growth of their business and the necessary action is now to wrap the production in India.
